Main duties of the job
The recruitment team at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a customer focussed, friendly and enthusiastic individual. You will be a key member of the Digital systems design and delivery team, liaising with users to gather system development requirements and undertaking system testing to deliver high quality, safe clinical systems for use across the Trust.

Job responsibilities
Responsibilities
1. Lead on the testing and implementation of system upgrades.
2. Routinely test applications to ensure that systems are stable, meet the business requirements and the users expectations.
3. Create all release documentation with regards to testing ensuring the Trust can meet their legal obligations as a software supplier under DCB0129 and DCB0160.
4. Liaise with staff (external and internal to the NHS) to resolve faults and to seek clarity on user requirements in order to ensure that systems under test meet the agreed requirements and will allow the associate services to be delivered.
Skills / Experience
* Good teamworking skills.
* Knowledge and expertise of test methodologies and relevant industry standards.
* Relevant degree (or equivalent), or experience of software testing in a highly complex technical environment.
* Experience writing and executing basic SQL queries.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Relevant degree (or equivalent), or equivalent experience of software testing in a highly complex technical environment.
* ISTQB foundation or intermediate certificate in software testing.
Knowledge and experience
* Knowledge and expertise of test methodologies and relevant industry standards.
* Knowledge and expertise in test tools e.g. Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server or Jira.
* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
* Knowledge of Oracle Databases.
* Experience writing and executing basic SQL queries.
* Experience of server operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix/Linux.
* Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of relevant NHS clinical and business processes.
* Working knowledge of Prince 2.
