Vetting Administration officer
Salary : £31,000
Location
Our main operational base is Belfast, with an operational site in London. Staff are split across our London and Belfast offices; therefore, regular travel will be required as will regular attendance in the office. Whilst the expectation is that investigators are office based, home working may be considered on occasions subject to operational requirements and in line with the Commission’s approach on hybrid working and with the agreement of your line manager.
Working Pattern
Full time, part time and flexible working. The role may include occasional out-of-core-hours working.
Contract Type
This role is offered on a permanent contract. Secondment arrangements from other organisations will also be considered, including employer pension contributions.
Security Level
Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for SC clearance, if not already cleared.

The Role
The Assistant Vetting Officer will work with the Commission’s Corporate Operations Security and Vetting teams to oversee and administer UK national security vetting applications, transfers, queries and updates. Additionally, the role involves collaborating and working closely with the Human Resources department to manage, administer, and maintain ongoing staff vetting clearances and records, ensuring compliance with the UK’s personnel security policy.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the administration and processing of national security vetting applications and transfers.
* Conduct checks and verify information provided by applicants.
* Maintain and update vetting records and databases in line with the organisations data protection policies.
* Ensure compliance with national security vetting policies and procedures.
* Liaise with applicants and provide guidance on the vetting process.
* Prepare reports and documentation related to vetting activities.
* Support the Vetting team in the delivery of interviews and assessments.
* Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
* Collaborate with the Human Resources department to manage recruiting and ongoing staff vetting clearances and records.
* Assist in the development and implementation of vetting policies and procedures.
* Participate in training and development activities to stay updated on best practices in vetting.
