As an Apprentice Surfacing Operative, you’ll support the vital need to be involved in the surfacing, resurfacing and improvement of vast stretches of roads and the highway network. You will help with the removal of old roads and surfaces, preparing for the new surface, complete inspections, and testing of the new surfaces. You will learn how to operate a wide range of specialist plant machinery such as rollers and spreaders. There will be 2 weeks of block training, which could be residential, depending on where you live. Breedon will cover the costs of any accommodation, travel and meals. If you’re one to tiptoe around puddles with trepidation, maybe this role isn’t for you. You won’t be spending every day in a clean, corporate office swivelling on an office chair If you have a natural affinity with the great outdoors, in all weathers, then now we’re talking Do you offer? National 4 in Maths & English desirable although not essential. An interest in working in the great outdoors. Someone who wants to get stuck in and work as part of a team. You will need to be a minimum age of 18 (by December 2025).
