One of our long standing maintenance clients is in need of a Qualified PAINTING Quantity Surveyor with a background within construction contracts, refurbishment or void contracts required to manage and control all financial and technical aspects of contracts including procurement, invoicing and payment to minimise costs & maximise value for the Royston and Northern Home Counties region / Borehamwood regions.
The surveyor is fully responsible for the financial performance of the project through to collection of cash on a number of painting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Measurement, pricing and evaluation of tenders
2. Take responsibility of projects from inception to completion
3. Identify areas to improve margin
4. Cost management
5. Target creation
6. CVR reporting and forecasting
7. Management and administration of sub-contractor accounts
8. Producing and submitting applications for payment
9. Understand Health & Safety requirements
10. Develop and maintain subcontract and supplier contracts
Knowledge/Experience:
1. Painting/maintenance background
2. Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
3. Previous experience of construction/retrofit or fabric upgrades are preferred however not essential
4. Previous experience of working with bill of quants, schedules of rates, design and build contracts
5. Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
6. Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting
7. Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative
8. Experienced with direct and subcontract labour
9. Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
10. Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
11. Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
