Main Duties of the Job
Responsible for the assessment of paediatric patients entering the Emergency Department, prioritisation of treatment, delivery of care and evaluation.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.

Person Specification
Experience
* Recent clinical experience in an acute Trust
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
* Time management and personal organisation skills
* Awareness of national access standards affecting ED Patients
* Previous experience at Band 5 within speciality
* Evidence of facilitating learning in practice.
Qualifications
* Children's Nursing Degree
* Experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine
The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer-facing roles.
Most positions require a Disclosure and Barring check and will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Posts working regularly or unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults require an enhanced check.
Applicants for eligible roles requiring Tier 2 sponsorship must meet UK Visas and Immigration eligibility criteria.
