What will I be doing?
As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the effective operational management of the hotel. Leading the operational Heads of Departments and wider leadership team to ensure key KPIs are achieved. Focusing on revenue generation, effective cost management, inspiring the team to deliver outstanding Guest experiences and ensure the environment is a great place to work. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
1. Working in collaboration with the General Manager (GM) and the Senior Leadership team focusing on the hotel’s strategic aims.
2. Working with the GM, Financial Controller, and Director of Revenue to ensure profits are maximised and aligned with the hotel’s strategy.
3. Ensuring consistent and clear communication of operational priorities within the hotel, to owners and key stakeholders.
4. Ability to drive accountability and demonstrate measured progress and success through time-sensitive KPI's.
5. Plan, direct and coordinate the service delivery of all operational departments in order to meet and exceed guest expectations.
6. Working in conjunction with the General Manager to actively manage key property issues and opportunities (including capital projects; customer service; refurbishment).
7. Assisting the development of meaningful, achievable hotel budgets and other short and long-term hotel strategic goals.
8. Provide effective leadership to the hotel management team and team members to ensure targets are met and exceeded, including the development and coaching of hotel leaders and team members with a key focus on succession planning and supporting top talent in the hotel.
9. Respond to audits that are completed by the company to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
10. Comply and exceed hotel and brand service standards being a key role model and inspiring the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
11. Ensure that costs are controlled throughout the operational departments and results are analysed regularly to highlight problem areas and take appropriate action.
12. Seek and react to guest feedback in order to achieve positive outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.
13. Hold regular briefings and communication meetings with the HOD team.
What are we looking for?
A Director of Operations serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
1. Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience in a large hotel operation with particular emphasis on Food and Beverage, Conference and Banqueting and Rooms Division Management.
2. Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results.
3. In-depth knowledge of the hotel / leisure / service sector.
4. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level of performance and exceed targets.
5. Accountable and resilient.
6. Ability to work under pressure.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
1. Knowledge of the hotel property management systems.
2. Previous experience in the same or similar role.
