MB713 - Lightning Protection Engineer
Location: South West of the UK
Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 + Van + Fuel Card

First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrical Remedials Engineer on behalf of our client based in Woking. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business with an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Installation: Install lightning protection and earthing systems on tall structures like high-rise offices and flats, following pre-designed schemes and risk assessments.
2. Upgrades: Undertake upgrades to existing lightning protection systems as per provided instructions.
3. Safety: Utilize scaffolding, work platforms, and safety devices to work safely at heights.
4. Documentation: Complete all company paperwork accurately, including risk assessments, job sheets, and timesheets.
5. Client Communication: Provide on-site communications and advice to clients or project managers, representing the company professionally.
Lightning Protection is a highly regulated niche service, requiring annual testing (BS EN 62305:2006). Work is predominantly outdoors and at height, requiring access to rooftops and challenging locations. Projects range from high-rise residential to industrial structures, necessitating travel and driving. This is an individual contributor role reporting to an Operations or Contracts Leader, with a customer-facing aspect representing the company and brand nationwide. National role with occasional travel away from home as per customer needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience: Strong experience in lightning protection (installation, testing, or repair).
2. Qualifications: NVQ 2 or NVQ 3 as a Lightning Conductor Engineer, CSCS card holder.
3. Customer Service: Previous experience in a field service environment with customer interaction.
4. Skills: Good planning, organization, and communication skills.
5. Desirable: IPAF, SSSTS, and PASMA qualifications, full UK driving license.
