Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our Children's Residential Service.
An ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential management, particularly within a children's setting.
The role will support the Registered Manager and will be responsible for managing the service with support in the absence of the manager and deputising during the manager's presence.
This role requires a strong knowledge of OFSTED regulatory expectations and leadership skills with hands-on involvement in care delivery, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care tailored to their individual needs.
Duties
* Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
* Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to promote a positive working environment.
* Raise and review personalised care plans.
* Administer medications as required, maintaining accurate records of medication administration.
* Foster strong relationships with professionals, families, and significant others.
* Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld throughout the children's home.
* The Deputy Manager will be a Designated Safeguarding Lead and may at times be involved with managing any safeguarding concerns within the company.
* The Deputy Manager must promote safe ways of working at all times, utilising safe ways of risk assessing and relevant plans and guidance.
* The Deputy Manager may at times be part of any investigation processes and will be required to liaise with Safeguarding professionals, LADO, and the regulatory body, Ofsted, regarding any safeguarding matters.
* The Deputy Manager will be responsible for reporting serious events, raising relevant documentation to support the day-to-day running of the home and ensuring all quality assurance monitoring is undertaken in line with policy and procedures.
* The Deputy Manager must promote the safeguarding culture and professional boundaries for the organisation at all times, managing matters that fall below expectations robustly.
* To be a part of the interview panel as the manager of the home and ensure that safer recruitment practices are always followed.
* To actively engage successfully with safeguarding training and training that promotes and supports the children’s home, ensuring that training is continual to promote ongoing personal development for all.
* Provide regular workshops and discussions that improve the home's functioning in every aspect, supporting the quality of training undertaken and bespoke ways of working so personalised care can underpin the best possible opportunities for the children and staff.
Experience
* Wish for longevity within an organisation.
* Successfully attained a relevant Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
* Be willing to progress within the organisation, including educational attainment leading to the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
* A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory role within a children’s residential setting is preferable.
* To provide consistent care and leadership to develop a good standard of care and support for special children.

Pay: £37,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
