Job Title: Mechanically Assembly Fitter (Hydraulics)

Hours of work: 44 hours (6am to 4pm Mon to Thurs and Fri 6am to 1pm)
Own transport recommended due to location
Our Engineering client based in the Burton On Trent area is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter with Hydraulic experience.
Position Summary:
The role is to overhaul and test the company’s range of products which includes Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, Valves, Hydraulic Power units, and High Pressure Hydraulic tooling such as Press equipment.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
1. Comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and Personnel policies and procedures.
2. Fault finding down to component level using test results to pinpoint failures.
3. Precise assembly and test of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, servo valves, manifolds, and hydraulic actuators (OE and Aftermarket).
4. Inspection of incoming components checking for defects and imperfections.
5. Testing assembled products to strict criteria required within the rail sector.
6. Carrying out quality inspections at all stages of the assembly process.
7. Creating and completing technical documentation and procedures.
8. Working within clean room environments.
9. To cover stores area as required.
10. To preserve and maintain all company tools and equipment in your care.
11. Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
12. Maintain a good attendance at work.
13. Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
14. Report near misses.
Background & Experience:
Understanding of hydraulics with the ability to accurately assemble and test the company’s wide range of products. The ability to work to tight deadlines. Knowledge and experience of cleanliness requirements in Hydraulics and safety precautions in Pressure Testing. Good knowledge of general engineering practices such as overhauling units, measuring, use of measuring equipment, component inspection, Testing, and Fault Finding.
Qualifications/Education Required:
* Desirable – Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings.
* Desirable – Engineering/Mechanical or Hydraulic qualification.
* Experience within a similar role.
* Good hand skills in an engineering workshop.
