Company Overview: My client in Manchester makes metal parts for different industries, like aerospace, cars, defense, energy, and medical. They use different techniques such as investment casting, sand casting, pressure die casting, and gravity die casting to create these parts.
They work with various metals like steel, aluminium, and alloys. They help companies with the design, testing, and production of custom metal parts, whether it's for small or large quantities. Their focus is on making high-quality, precise metal components for industries that need specific shapes and strong materials.
Reason for role: Looking to fill the position of a candidate relocating
Job Specification Day to Day:
* Assess incoming inquiries and evaluate project requirements.
* Enter customer details into the ERP system.
* Format inquiries for subcontractors.
* Prepare and complete quotations for investment casting projects.
* Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and supplier pricing.
* Support the estimating and sales administration teams during absences or holidays.
* Collaborate closely with the NPI engineer, technical department, and Sales Team.
* Occasionally visit customers as needed.
Essential Requirements:
* Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of processes like investment casting and forging
* Technical Skills: Ability to interpret engineering documents and drawings
* Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Desirable experience:
* Longevity within previous roles
* Enthusiastic and committed individual
* Driven to progress within the company
* At least 2 years of estimating experience
