We have a vacancy for a HGV Driver / Labourer to join our facilities team, based at our Head Office in Grimsargh, Preston and would welcome interest from suitably experienced candidates. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting plant, equipment, construction materials and site accommodation across a number of North West locations in a timely and safe manner. Duties will include: Delivery / collection and setup of site accommodation (cabins) to create an administrative centre for the project duration Relocation of site accommodation as dictated by the companys project requirements Delivery / collection of plant / equipment to / from site Delivery / collection of scaffold, site fencing, site materials and components Miscellaneous lifting requirements Assist yard personnel with readying, loading, tidying and general housekeeping requirements Assist yard personnel with maintenance & preparation of construction site cabins, including scraping / painting / cleaning Sorting / stacking of kwik stage scaffolding Essential Requirements To be considered for the role, you must have the following: Valid HGV class 2 licence (class C) Valid Driver CPC card Valid digital tacograph card Proven experience as a HGV Driver or in a similar role Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record Physical strength to load and unload heavy items safely Awareness of current road haulage legislation and HGV operations Thorough driving knowledge of the North West Thorough understanding of current health and safety legislation and best practice in haulage and construction Problem solving skills Resilience when working to fixed deadlines and managing risk Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ideally, the successful postholder will also hold the following: valid lorry loader license (desirable) valid all terrain forklift licence (desirable) valid telehandler licence (desirable) Please note: Candidates should live within a reasonable commute of our Grimsargh (Preston) Head Office location. The role is full time and will be based around core hours of Monday to Thursday 08.00 16.30 and Friday 08.00 15.30.
