We are looking to recruit a part-time, 20 hours per week, Medical Receptionist on a permanent basis to join the team at Glastonbury Surgery.
The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with the public on the telephone and face to face with a professional and friendly approach.
The busy working environment and diverse role of a medical receptionist presents an opportunity for someone that is eager to learn and work effectively as part of a team.
You will assist with the smooth running of the practice and have a comprehensive induction with full training for the role.
The 20 hours per week working pattern is as follows:
Thursday: 8am - 4pm
Friday: 9am - 6pm

Main duties of the job
The role of medical receptionist is essential to the smooth running of Glastonbury Surgery. The role is varied, with face to face and telephone contact with patients and taking on administrative responsibilities that support the delivery of safe and effective care.

We care for a registered population size of 14,000 served by 11 GPs, GP Registrars, Nurse Practitioners and a paramedic, a team of Practice Nurses and HCAs, physiotherapists, administrative, secretarial and reception.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Reception desk - greet patients and respond to all enquiries
* Appointment management - book patients and respond to requests for appointments from clinicians
* Management of medical records
* Preparation of consulting rooms
* Operating the telephone system
* Practice opening & closing procedure
* Administration of forms and documentation
All responsibilities are shared across the team on a rota basis.

Experience
