Senior Transport Planner - Permanent
Location: Coventry, Warwickshire.
Transport Planner Pay rate:
1. £33,000 - £36,000 Dependent on Experience.
Transport Planner Shift pattern:
1. Monday to Friday
2. Hours between 06:00 & 20:00.
Transport Planner Job role:
1. Maintain all relevant aspects of a safe, legal and compliant transport operation.
2. Ensure the customer receives a first class and professional service in all communication.
3. Demonstrate a keen eye whilst working under pressure.
4. De-brief drivers ensuring we keep a tight control on all aspects of the paperwork.
5. Plan routes and deliveries in a cost effective way.
6. Proactive communication with delivery partners and customers.
7. Monitor deliveries through the network.
8. Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with statutory law, company policy & health & safety guidelines.
9. Assist in adherence to Drivers Hours Regulations in accordance with the working time directive.
10. Ensure quotes, jobs and costings are entered correctly and in a timely manner onto the traffic management system.
11. Ensure drivers have correct paperwork for deliveries & are aware of any customer requirements.
12. Ensure adherence to all relevant statutory laws, EU Drivers Hours Rules & Regulations, Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations, Operators Licence and OCRS obligations, FORS requirements, and Company policies.
13. Issue drivers with the correct documentation and ensure they are informed on customer requirements and expectations.
14. Conduct full and thorough driver briefing and de-briefing, both remotely and at base.
15. Monitor driver performance, delays and demurrage and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and increase profitability.
16. Analyse all relevant areas of responsibility, set KPI's and manage improvement objectives.
17. Maintain a cohesive and efficient working relationship with all suppliers and staff.
18. Involvement in projects for continual improvement, leading to improved efficiency and increased profitability.
19. Create and promote best practices for drivers and lead from the front to provide a positive culture in all areas of responsibility.
What we are looking for:
1. Experience in a Transport Planner role.
2. Experience in planning routes for a fleet of HGV vehicles.
3. Excellent customer service skills.
4. Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
5. High levels of attention to detail.
