Project Engineering Manager Role overview: We are seeking an accomplished PEM, with an extensive proposals background, to work across major PMC energy transition, infrastructure, upstream, refinery or petrochemical projects located in both domestic and international markets. Reporting to the T.EN UKOC Manager of Project Engineering this position will interact and coordinate internally with our PMC Business Unit, Functional Managers, all engineering disciplines (such as Technology, Process, and Engineering Design) and all non-engineering disciplines (such as project controls, planning, procurement, construction). There will also be extensive interaction with external clients, subcontractors, vendors, partners, authorities, and licensors. The position can be based in Milton Keynes or London and there will be the potential for global travel. Key Activities & Responsibilities: There are two major components for this role: Proactive delivery of the PMC Business Unit tendering and initiatives. Leading engineering and design activities on projects. Both components will have complementary activities that include: Assessing engineering discipline progress and performance against the schedule and managing changes that may impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Planning and management of engineering resources, identifying and pursuing opportunities for margin improvement, including HVEC. Overseeing small to medium size projects, providing direction and leadership within the project environment to groups of engineering disciplines and SMEs. Directing the development of engineering project execution strategy; identifying technical interfaces, and technical risks/mitigations. Implementing, controlling and resolving all aspects of interface management whether plant physical battery limits, external third-party physical interfaces, client, subcontractor or licensor interfaces as required for the project. Developing and managing the engineering input to the project schedule and driving engineering teams to comply with requirements, schedule milestones and key performance indicators. Ensuring definition of engineering disciplines roles and responsibilities, providing information on project requirements, budgets, schedule and success factors. Capability to generate key documents including those directing engineering strategy, implementation and ensuring technical excellence Coordinating with other leaders within the project organisation ensuring that multi-discipline interfaces are properly addressed with resolution of technical issues. We welcome applications from candidates who can offer the following expertise and experience : BSc / MSc qualification in engineering, or equivalent. Demonstratable diversity of project execution experience in a relevant industry sector. Industry experience in Feasibility/PDP/FEED/EPC/PMC environments. Solid background as a Project Engineer. Familiarity with tendering practices of PDP, FEED and EPC and exposure to tender evaluation and scoring criteria/processes. Commercial awareness. Competency in engineering work processes, inter-discipline relationships (enablers), schedule logics and in developing of an overall TIC cost estimate and PDP/FEED/EPC tender packages. Excellent communication skills and an understanding of contracts and project-related financial issues. Site Experience, UK Project background, Contractual and Commercial document exposure, knowledge of strategic planning and business objectives, and project financing knowledge would, in part or all, be beneficial but are not essential for consideration.
