This is a fixed term/secondment post until 31/01/2026
This post is 14 hours per week
We require a highly motivated individual to work in our busy Emergency Department reception. You will be required to work with the minimum of supervision and as part of a team, dealing with all the clerical duties associated with patients attending the Emergency Department.
You will work the day shift (0715-1445) on a rolling 3 week rota pattern. This will include Bank Holidays as they fall on the rota. Full rota below:
14 hours per week

Week 1:
1. Monday Days 0715-1445
2. Thursday Days 0715-1445
3. Friday Days 0715-1445
Week 2:
1. Monday Afters 1445-2215
Week 3:
1. Friday Days 0715-1445
2. Saturday Days 0715-1445
Applicants should possess good communication and organisational skills and be able to work under pressure. Previous reception experience and computer/keyboard skills are essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
To carry out the full range of specified duties in the Emergency Department reception area in order to provide an effective and efficient clerical support service to the Emergency Department.

Experience
* Clerical experience of dealing with the general public.
* Medway experience.
* ED or other hospital reception experience.
* Previous hospital experience.
Knowledge and Awareness
* Understanding of the need for confidentiality.
* IT systems particularly Microsoft packages.
* Knowledge of NHS procedures.
* Awareness of health and safety requirements.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths & English (A-C) or equivalent experience.
