About the Role
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) provides support and oversight to all technical aspects of project delivery, whilst maintaining project schedules and client expectations. The TPM is an experienced engineer who will provide general planning, management and oversight of their assigned project(s) and associated deliverables.
Undertaking a wide range of checking functions for engineering design and drawing work carried out by other engineers within the company, primarily for assigned projects.
Supporting and developing new ideas, designs and ways of working as part of the company’s ongoing investment in R&D and continuous improvement.
The TPM will be client facing and therefore have a role to play in maintaining and building mutually beneficial relationships.
About You
Essential:
* Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in the marine industry.
* Self-motivation and time management to meet agreed targets and deliverables deadlines.
* Personal time planning, including feedback to support in the definition of resource requirements, time budgets and deliverables deadlines.
* Team time planning, including support to define resource requirements, time budgets and deliverables deadlines.
* Team motivation and time management to meet agreed targets and deliverables deadlines.
* Demonstrates communication and behavioural competencies in alignment with or exceeding Lateral Career Level expectations.
* Commercial awareness, with the ability to ensure that works are being carried out and completed to an appropriate standard and level of detail, measured against the contracted deliverables and tracked against the agreed budget.
* Proven project management skills, working within project teams and across multiple, simultaneous projects; facilitating effective communication and timely decision making in order to ensure the effective progress of planned works.
Desirable:
* 2D CAD (AutoCAD) to produce and to review design information.
* 2D/3D CAD and other specialist software as required to produce and to review design information.
* MS Office to develop reports, spreadsheet data and presentation information.
* Knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations and Classification and Flag rule sets.
* Knowledge and understanding of ship structural and systems design and its impact upon integration.
* Knowledge and understanding of luxury yacht and/or specialist vessel outfit and the requirements for equipment integration, preferably with direct shipyard experience.
