The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for a Paralegal to further their career and join our collaborative, friendly and highly regarded Trusts and Estates team. This opportunity is within the estate administration team and involves a lot of client contact, particularly with executor clients, beneficiaries whether family members or charities, and other professionals. We deal with the administration of deceased estates including those for whom partners in the team are appointed as professional executor. It is an extremely rewarding role with a very varied workload and a high degree of responsibility. The role will involve, among other general tasks, managing the administration of the estate's day-to-day financial matters, ensuring bills are paid and assets sold in a timely manner, arranging house clearance, facilitating the marketing of property for sale, liaising with other professionals, financial institutions and beneficiaries of the estate.
We are looking for candidates who would enjoy building relationships with clients, who are keen to take on responsibility, and who enjoy problem-solving. A commitment to excellent client service is essential.
This role will be based in our Bath office.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities are broadly but not limited to:
* Effectively manage an individual caseload (with supervision where appropriate)
* Attend to clients of the firm in the office or elsewhere if needed
* Work in a collegiate and collaborative way within an immediate team and wider firm environment
* Communicate promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients
* Maintain your continuing professional development requirements and take an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law
* To carry out your work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the firm's standards, procedures and core values
* To regularly attend, and be involved in preparation for, team meetings
* To attend and be involved in preparation for marketing and business development events and activities

Requirements
Experience of working within a legal environment is advantageous. Proficient IT and keyboard skills (including Word and Excel). Excellent inter-personal skills when dealing with clients and others. Ability to use initiative and demonstrate a can-do attitude to solving problems. Willingness to learn. Ownership of tasks through to completion. Organisational skills and high attention to detail. Must be discreet when dealing with the Firm's confidential affairs.
