About the Role: A vacancy has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join our well-established and experienced Legal Team led by the General Counsel. Key Accountabilities (Duties): Support and work with MGP Management, Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Operational teams. Draft and negotiate commercial contracts including multi-year Team Partner Agreements. Act as a lead for negotiating agreements with suppliers working with the Purchasing Team. Provide legal training and support to the business across a range of legal topics. Responding to day-to-day enquiries from internal clients and external counterparties and providing commercially minded legal advice. Updating template documents and “playbooks”. Candidate Profile Essential: Be a qualified solicitor with proven industry experience in a commercial department of a law firm or within a commercial in-house legal team. Have a strong understanding of English law. Prior knowledge and/or experience of Formula One or sports work is not essential (as long as there is a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn). Additional experience in Property, Employment or Data Privacy is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven, demonstrable track record of working successfully within a team. The Legal department requires someone who is resilient, calm when working under pressure (especially within tight timescales), has excellent attention to detail and is extremely well organised. An autonomous and practical problem-solving approach coupled with a strong work ethic and a willingness to go “above and beyond” will be the cornerstone of the successful candidate’s approach to work.
