Gi Pro are looking for an experienced Site Contracts Manager who comes from a mechanical engineering or fabrication background to join our global project engineering client. The successful candidate will manage and execute engineering projects from concept through to completion. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills to deliver mechanical engineering solutions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that designs are functional, efficient, and cost-effective, while meeting safety standards and deadlines. The role would require some form of flexibility as you would be expected to be conducting regular site visits to support the site team and supervisors nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organising kick off meetings for new project assignments with the sales team
2. Assessing the contracts and project requirements for materials, Labour, plant hire, tools and consumables
3. Liaising with the design team for drawings, P&ID's and code standards and specifications related with the project/ contract.
4. Organisation and planning of scheduled Labour for each contract and project.
5. Dealing with any sub-contract companies within the supply chain to support the projects and contracts
6. Recruiting any sub-contract Labour to assist projects throughout peak times
7. Ensuring all tradesmen and contractors are competent for the task at hand and checking they hold a valid certificate
8. Completing regular method statements and risk assessments for the projects.
9. Instructing direct work force and tradesmen and setting goals and tasks for the team to achieve to meet deadlines
10. Overseeing site works projects from start to completion, whilst checking work is carried out safely at all times
11. Motivate and in some cases discipline staff/ tradesmen
12. Organisation of H&S files, CCP's and ITP's
13. Reviewing and signing off timesheets for staff, sub-contractors as well as supply chain invoices.
About you:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field - *but not necessary*
2. 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering/fabrication, preferably within manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
3. Good knowledge and experience of working on construction engineering sites
4. Excellent verbal communication skills
5. Able to work well on your own - good initiative
6. Good use of computer - Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Project and Outlook.
7. Ideally SMSTS or IOSH/NEBOSH
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, and the ability to work flexible hours based on project demands.
