The role overview
Join the Origin team as a Head Barista and lead the creation of the most prominent coffee experience in Europe. As a pivotal member of the Origin team, you will work alongside exceptional baristas to deliver outstanding quality and unmatched service. This role is intensely customer-focused, emphasising direct interaction, relationship building, and a deep-seated passion for speciality coffee. Your commitment to excellence and ability to embody and communicate the Origin brand's values will be key in upholding and advancing our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accountable for coffee quality. Craft unique recipes for both blend and single-origin coffees utilising various brewing methods such as espresso, pour-over, and batch filter.
2. Elevate cafe service standards for the best customer experience. Engage customers with an informed and enthusiastic approach, making tailored recommendations to enhance their coffee experience.
3. Operate and maintain high-end coffee machinery, including La Marzocco espresso machines and Mahlkonig grinders.
4. Collaborate with the Education Team and General Manager to continuously maintain coffee standards and innovate. Train new staff in collaboration with the Education Team.
5. Ensure the café's cleanliness throughout all operating hours.
6. Oversee stock levels and coordinate reordering processes.
7. Manage the café during shifts.
8. Represent the Origin brand with pride and lead by example in the industry, conveying our brand's essence and values to customers and team members.
9. Support taking the lead in cupping sessions and events that promote Origin’s coffee culture and education.
