Job summary Applications are invited for a Trust grade doctor post in cardiology, offered by the South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fixed-term post until 1st July 2025, with a potential opportunity to extend for another 6 months. The post is nominally based at South Tyneside District Hospital with cross site working also at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The post is designed to provide experience in general cardiology and general internal medicine, but with opportunities to gain more in-depth exposure to sub-speciality cardiology, depending on the successful candidates experience and interests. Main duties of the job The post would ideally suit a candidate who has completed Foundation training and/or internal medicine training and may be interested in applying for higher speciality training in cardiology. The roles and responsibilities of the post can be tailored accordingly, depending on the candidates experience and needs. The successful applicant will gain experience of elective and non-elective cardiology, as well as sub-speciality cardiology including interventional cardiology, cardiac rhythm management, heart failure, cardiac imaging, and community cardiology.
