Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Forklift and Warehouse Operative in Cardiff on a split Afternoon and night shift pattern.
The successful candidate will preferably have experience of operating a forklift, but if not a Combi, then the candidate will need experience of operating a Sideloader, Reach or Counterbalance Forklift with at least 2 years of experience. You must have loading experience within an engineering or heavy manufacturing environment. In this role, you will ensure all orders are loaded and dispatched correctly and on time, and the corresponding paperwork is checked and completed accurately.
Salary:
Starting rate: £11.87p/h increasing to £12.54 after successful completion of probation
Additional 10% shift allowance on afternoon shifts
Hours:
Week 1: Monday to Friday 6.00am- 2.00pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday 2.00pm - 10.00pm

Forklift and Warehouse Operative Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Load product in a prompt manner, communicating relevant information to the Dispatch Team leader.
2. Liaise with Dispatch Team Leader to organise workload and priorities.
3. Liaise with Production Team Leaders to resolve any issues that may arise in relation to unsatisfactory product.
4. Load vehicles as required, ensuring 'zero' loading / delivery damage.
5. Preparation of all finished goods in conjunction with the companies packaging procedures. Ensuring stock levels are above minimum quantities.
6. Communicate with haulers in relation to deliveries.
7. Ensure load photos are taken of all products leaving site.
8. Ensure smooth running of deliveries, collection, customer returns, customer collections, adhering to all relevant procedures flagging issues to the Dispatch Team leader.
9. Make recommendations to improve on performance / procedures.
10. Yard management is key. Allocating finished goods in their correct location and updating the system accurately in a timely manner.
11. Ensuring the yard is always clear of debris.
Forklift and Warehouse Operative Essential Experience/Qualifications:
1. Experience within a manufacturing or engineering dispatch role.
2. RTITB Forklift licence - Combi lift license.
3. Understanding of Dispatch processes.
4. Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
5. A willingness to be flexible regarding working hours.
