Simulation Specialist Experience Level: 10-15 years About the Role: Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulation Specialist to join a Process Design Consultancy team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, interpreting, and optimizing process simulations for large-scale continuous process plants, including petrochemical facilities, distillation systems, and compression processes. This is a key technical role requiring not only proficiency in simulation tools but also the expertise to translate simulation results into actionable insights and recommendations. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute steady-state and dynamic process simulations for large-scale continuous operations. Analyze and interpret simulation results to identify process bottlenecks, optimization opportunities, and design improvements. Provide technical recommendations based on simulation outputs to enhance plant efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Work closely with process engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure simulation models align with real-world plant operations and objectives. Utilize industry-leading simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, gPROMS) to develop accurate and reliable process models. Support front-end engineering design (FEED) studies, debottlenecking projects, and troubleshooting initiatives. Validate simulation models against plant data, ensuring consistency and accuracy in predictions. Mentor junior engineers in process simulation techniques and best practices. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 10-15 years of experience in process simulation, preferably within a consultancy or an engineering services environment. Strong expertise in simulating petrochemical, distillation, and compression processes. Hands-on experience with leading process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, etc.). Deep understanding of thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, separation technologies, and energy optimization. Proven ability to interpret complex simulation results and translate them into practical engineering solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams. Preferred Skills: Experience with dynamic simulation and operator training simulators (OTS). Familiarity with process control strategies and their integration into simulation models. Exposure to digital twin technology and advanced data analytics in process optimization. Experience in regulatory compliance and safety studies using simulation tools. Why Join?
