Our client is a leading global packaging manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality, which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an experienced engineering manager to manage the growing engineering department.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Full responsibility & accountability for the running & development of the maintenance department.
2. Managing a team of 20 people - shift engineers, apprentices, facilities, team leaders.
3. Drive a continuous improvement culture.
4. Monitor KPi's and live data systems, to ensure the success of the maintenance team against goals.
5. Manage the workshop, maintenance stores, production machinery, ancillary equipment, site services.
6. Develop the department performance, supporting site change initiatives, product quality, data accuracy, making sure SOP's are met.
7. Budget control & monitoring, working closely with the accounts team.
8. Supplier negotiation, contractor management, PPM planning & updates.
9. Health & safety management.
10. Manage the team's performance - appraisals, training & development plans, disciplinaries, holidays.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Must be an experienced engineering manager, someone that can hit the ground running.
2. Need to be a strong man-manager, confident and approachable character.
3. Able to positively influence cultural change.
4. Must be a time-served, qualified engineer.
5. Ideally have worked in packaging manufacturing or FMCG / Food / Plastics.
6. Knowledge of health & safety processes and procedures.
7. Must be NEBOSH qualified.
8. Able to manage KPi's, PPM plans, report on live data.
9. Stores management & supplier negotiation.
10. Must have extensive departmental management experience, managing at least 20 people.
