The Site Quality Assurance Manager Opportunity:
As UK Site Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and evolving the site's Quality Management system. Collaboration with the EU Site Quality Assurance Supervisor to adopt a centralised approach, whenever feasible, is essential.
This role reports to the Head of Technical, with a dotted line into the Global Technical Services Manager. You will be a detail-oriented critical thinker, commercially minded, passionate about factory technical, and committed to upholding our company's values.
What your day-to-day might look like:
1. Overseeing and implementing the Quality Management System, while proactively suggesting improvements
2. Creating and maintaining allergen cleaning validation programmes
3. Developing and implementing a product testing and environmental monitoring plan
4. Ensuring accurate recording of results and implementing corrective actions when results fall outside of specifications
5. Managing internal audits, and leading continuous improvement of the quality management system
6. Spearheading continuous improvement initiatives on both technical and commercial aspects
7. Overseeing and managing the food safety plan (HACCP)
8. Developing and implementing processes to enhance plant hygiene and GMP
9. Monitoring customer feedback to ensure high product quality and report any trends in customer complaints
10. Supporting operations in preventing failures by analyzing trends and providing advice on solutions
11. Identifying, documenting, and implementing areas for improvement
12. Managing the pest control contract for the Colchester site
13. Providing support to the EU facility in cases of staff absence
14. Delivering operational OKRs and developing team OKRs
15. Providing support to Head of Technical as needed
About you:
1. Ideally, you'll hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a food industry-related field
2. 5+ years of experience managing within the technical department
3. Level 3 (or higher) Food Hygiene and HACCP qualifications
4. Strong problem-solving, crisis, and incident management skills
5. Excellent management and communication skills with the ability to develop and inspire team members
6. A strategic perspective, demonstrating sound business judgment and exercising prudence in decision-making
7. Lead auditor training qualification will be a big plus!
