Different disciplines, different backgrounds, different voices, all contributing to the outstanding narratives of our next projects for decades to come. As the Lead of this department, you will drive our world-building and storytelling initiatives. This role will oversee the team responsible for creation and development of original narrative content, guiding a growing team of writers, editors, and external contributors. If you have a history of leading creative teams, a keen editorial eye, and proven experience identifying and shaping compelling stories, this is a unique opportunity to define the creative core of our future projects. Responsibilities Build, manage, and mentor a dedicated storytelling team, ensuring strong creative direction and oversight Evaluate, refine, and approve narrative pitches, storylines, characters, and settings Provide creative leadership and maintain narrative consistency and quality across multiple projects, formats and genres Establish internal narrative processes and quality benchmarks Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to shape long-term story strategy Act as the creative authority on story approval and development within the department Requirements Substantial experience in story development, narrative direction, or creative leadership (e.g. holding positions such as Showrunner, Narrative Director, Editor-in-Chief) Track record of creating and developing original narrative content Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills Passion for genre storytelling, particularly expansive narratives with strong world-building What We Offer An international team of over 500 employees spread across 7 studios around the world, each of which have their own unique qualities, and maintain a small-studio feel An open, collaborative environment where ideas are welcome and encouraged A managerial team consisting of highly experienced game developers at the top of their fields Sharing hobbies and passions with like-minded colleagues Inclusive environment with many activities organized by the studios or the employees Commitment to making the best game possible for the fans, including listening to community feedback This position will be based full-time from our Guildford studio, and international business travel may be expected on occasion.
