Job summary We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Registered General Nurse or Paramedic to join our Primary Care Team at HMP & YOI Feltham. This is a Senior Nurse/Paramedic role responsible for the day to day delivery of Primary Care and Health Promotion service to the adults and young people in our care. They will work closely as part of the wider Integrated Health and Emotional Well-being Team to deliver holistic care, and will foster close working relationships with operational and educational colleagues to enhance engagement with the adults and children. Main duties of the job It is expected that the RGN/Paramedic will provide professional leadership and to facilitate a culture which engenders high standards and reflective learning and development. To lead and manage a team of allocated staff. Undertake line management responsibility for a team of staff ensuring appropriate deployment and supervision of staff. To provide skilled general and advice to patients within the prison. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team assessing the health needs of patients; to provide and evaluate care given and implement changes as required. To be able to work autonomously, as well as part of the wider team delivering health care to the standard equitable to that found within the wider community. To provide holistic care in a unique environment based on a primary care model that encourages patient engagement to an often socially excluded group.
