Food Manufacturing Production Manager Job Summary The Food Manufacturing Production Manager will oversee the entire production process, ensuring that all operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food production processes, and a commitment to quality and compliance with food safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the production team to ensure the efficient and timely production of high-quality food products while meeting safety and quality standards. Take overall responsibility for quality, food safety, GMP and hygiene standards within production area. Be an active and contributing member of the site Q&FS Committee and HACCP team. Develop, implement, and optimize production schedules to meet customer demand and minimize downtime. Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any product quality issues and ensure adherence to quality control procedures. Train, motivate, and develop production staff, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and fostering a positive work culture. Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished goods. Manage equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to reduce downtime and ensure optimal production efficiency. Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, challenges, and resolutions to senior management. Qualifications Ideally a LEAN focused background. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Significant experience in food manufacturing, with a focus on production management. Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality assurance practices, and manufacturing processes. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software. Hours: Working hours; 37.5 but needs to be flexible to working outside of dayshifts.
