Job Description
Renewable Energy Project Engineer
Leap29 are representing a client who are a leading independent renewable energy company who operate and construct over 1.7 GW of assets and are developing a portfolio of more than 30 GW.
Leap29 are searching for 2 positions, a Senior Engineer and Engineer, with expertise in the following core areas:
• Electrical Design,
• Proficiency in solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase).
• Project optimisation
• 1%-2% soil in factor
• Electrical Calculations
• Tenders and Bids
• Pre-Construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop technical designs from concept to detailed stages using industry-standard software, ensuring alignment with project development phases.
• Optimize layouts and maximize energy yields through constraint analysis.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices, integrating cross-functional feedback.
• Assist in preparing documentation for both pre- and post-construction phases.
• Lead or support technical due diligence, coordinating with Lenders’ Technical Advisors (LTAs).
• Serve as the technical lead for tender and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes, from preparation to evaluation.
• Define and review contract technical requirements (e.g., PAC process), monitor compliance, and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct on-site verification of installations and testing, ensuring adherence to design, internal procedures, and industry regulations.
• Oversee grid connection approvals and compliance.
• Provide technical support for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), including inspections and witnessing tests.
• Manage and assess pre-construction technical surveys.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners' Engineers and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field).
• Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering utility-scale solar power projects.
• Proficiency in solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system optimization skills.
