Working Hours: Monday to Friday 6am til 4pm (Hours may vary in seasonal busy periods)

Overview:
First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic business who are looking to recruit a Production Manager on a permanent basis due to growth located at their Oakham (Leicestershire) depot.
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Manager to oversee the daily operations of our client's production facility. The Manager will be responsible for managing production efficiency, ensuring quality, leading a small team of circa 15 employees, and upholding safety and regulatory compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail as stock ordering will be a crucial part of this role and commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on management role within a manufacturing environment. May require working extended hours and occasional weekends based on production needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate daily operations, including mixing, grinding, pelleting, and bagging to meet production schedules and customer demand.
2. Supervise and develop a team of operators, maintenance personnel, and support staff. Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
3. Ensure all production meets quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with quality assurance and nutrition teams for formulation accuracy.
4. Oversee the upkeep of mill equipment and machinery. Implement preventative maintenance programs and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
5. Monitor and manage raw materials. Ensure timely ordering and usage of ingredients to optimize production and reduce waste.
6. Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety training, and ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, and other relevant regulations.
7. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as production efficiency, downtime, and yield. Use data to identify improvement opportunities.
8. Assist in budgeting and cost control efforts by managing labour, materials, and maintenance costs effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
2. Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
3. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to analyse production data and implement process improvements.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
6. Mechanical aptitude and understanding would be highly advantageous.
