Data Centre Operations Manager – London

What You’ll Do:
* Lead & Manage: Oversee daily data centre operations during routine and emergency situations, ensuring that vendor performance aligns with contractual SLAs.
* Change Management: Develop, review, and implement Change Management procedures, including crafting detailed scripts for Change Management Request (CMR) activities.
* Project Support: Provide essential construction administrative support throughout various phases—from schematic design to commissioning—by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
* Efficiency & Innovation: Identify and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce power losses while ensuring compliance with mechanical, electrical, fire, and control systems standards.
* Field Engagement: Travel to data centre sites to conduct electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning as needed.
* Technical Excellence: Offer mission-critical electrical system reviews to global data centre engineering teams and conduct thorough Root-Cause-Analyses (RCA) for equipment failures or power outages.
* Vendor Oversight: Direct and manage vendors and installation contractors on-site, ensuring the highest quality of work, and provide hands-on emergency support when required.
What We’re Looking For:
* Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* Experience: Over 5 years managing large data centre facilities.
* Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of data centre mechanical, electrical, fire, and control systems, plus a strong understanding of cloud technologies, IT service delivery principles, and best practices.
* Leadership & Problem-Solving: A highly motivated, self-managed individual with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Industry Familiarity: Experience with data centre construction procedures and a readiness to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.
