My client provides funding and fiduciary management services to a variety of defined benefit pension schemes. They are looking for a Business Development Manager (VP level) to join their team!
Purpose:
1. Help to lead the delivery of their development strategy;
2. Work closely on business development activities with a particular focus on Funding and Fiduciary, from management of prospects and advisors to due diligence and post onboarding activities;
3. Support the development of amercial, inclusive and innovative culture across the firm
Main tasks & responsibilities:
4. Work alongside and support Head of BD for Investment and Fiduciary Management to drive business development activity for Funding and Fiduciary
5. Production and maintenance of reports, presentations, agendas and documentation for the team (internal and external) including pitchbooks, due diligence questionnaires, RFIs and RFPs.
6. Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with advisors, trustees, executives and investment teams.
7. Project coordinator for meetings, submission deadlines etc ensuring the team are on track and key deliverables are achieved on time.
8. Co-ordinate MI and maximise the benefits of the CRM system in structuring the oversight of all sales, prospecting and advisor relations activities and pipeline.
9. Contribute to and, when appropriate, lead consultancy projects and build out the pipeline for potential future partnership opportunities.
10. Contribute to R&D projects, driving innovation and bringing new products/services to our clients.
11. Work on M&A activity and other business development opportunities as they arise.
12. Successful stakeholder management/engagement (internal and external).
Person Specification
Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
13. Good analytical skills.
14. Prior experience working in an external facing role (or supporting an external-facing role) within an investment manager, fiduciary manager or investment consultant with some degree of multi-asset focus.
15. Experience with, and a good understanding of, the UK pensions sector.
16. Basic project management knowledge (co-ordination/scheduling etc).
17. Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders (internal and external).
18. Adaptable and pragmatic.
19. Strongmunication skills and ability to understand and engage in different contexts.
20. Willingness to positively propose solutions for improvement.
21. Ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
22. Willingness to learn.
23. Self-starter with a proactive, can-do attitude.
24. Play an integral role as part of team but also able to lead projects and act as an individual contributor.
Desirable knowledge, skills & experience:
25. Experience in delivering and supporting sales processes/consultant relations/client relationship management/business development;
26. In-depth expertise in Fiduciary Management/ OCIO and/or specific asset classes relevant to the team's focus;
27. PMP, Prince 2, or other relevant project management certification; and
28. Part-progressed or qualified in IMC or similar investment certification or prepared toplete IMC within three months ofmencing the role.
