SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – RM8 3EX
Location: Dagenham | Salary: £85–£100 per day | Start: ASAP | Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Are you a compassionate, patient, and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the RM8 area.
The Role:
You will be working closely with a pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to help them access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
* Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
* Support the pupil’s social and emotional development
* Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
* Monitor and report on the child’s progress to the SENCO and parents
Requirements:
* Experience working in a school or educational setting (ideally SEN-focused)
* A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
