Assistant Manager We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our world class distribution team in Knightsbridge, to ensure the smooth daily running of the department. About the Role We are looking for an Assistant Manager to support the Manager in the day to day running of the department ensuring that all KPI’s and objectives are met. The Assistant Manager should act as a role model for the rest of the team and actively promote and maintain Harrods standards and deputise for the Manager in their absence. As an Assistant Manager you will build and maintain strong working relationships with the operations team, external couriers, and the retail teams. Key responsibilities include: Ensure that all staff members, including themselves, are totally conversant and up to date with all Intelligent Shipper functionalities. To be fully conversant with using Workday, our people management tool. To regularly review procedures for improvements in efficiency and working practices, and to ensure that any recommendations are measured and implemented in conjunction with the Manager. To be conversant with SAP system and functionalities used in Dispatch. Managing the Team To ensure that standards are being reviewed regularly and activities are conducted to ensure the continual development of all members of the team. This will include documented performance monitoring, coaching and development of the team as well as conducting annual/quarterly performance reviews. To hold/support the Manager in weekly team meetings. To ensure that all staffing issues and disciplinary matters are dealt with in line with the Company people management policy. Ensure that all breaks from work are organised and taken having considered peak and non[1]peak periods e.g. lunch/coffee breaks, rota days and annual holidays. Ensure that any new employees to the team are appropriately inducted and supported in addition to their progress being regularly reviewed throughout their probationary period. Ensure that the Team Leaders (where applicable) are appropriately equipped to guide the team to achieve their daily targets. Recruitment of new starters. About You You will possess strong leadership and management skills and a continuous improvement mindset. You will have a creative approach to problem solving, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a team player who can develop and maintain trusted relationships at all levels in and outside of the business.
