We are looking for a full time or part time paralegal to support primarily the managing partner in a law firm with a demanding insolvency and restructuring caseload by carrying out legal work under his supervision, together with administrative support.
Typical duties may include:
1. Assisting with drafting (letters before action, applications/claims, witness statements, documents and other correspondence, etc.);
2. Issuing applications/claims (both at court and/or via e-filing) and subsequent case management;
3. Attending meetings and court hearings and taking notes;
4. Filing;
5. Creating documents/templates;
6. Answering the phone and taking messages;
7. Carrying out research;
8. Dealing with clients, suppliers, barristers and third parties;
9. Attending business development and marketing events;
10. All general office duties as required in a small firm.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have completed a law degree (or equivalent legal qualification) and the LPC/SQE, but this is not a requirement. Prior legal work experience in the areas of insolvency and restructuring would also be advantageous but again this is not a requirement as the role is intended to be entry level.
