We are looking to grow our ambulance team for a varied portfolio of events across the UK.
Our Emergency Care Support Workers work with Ambulance Technicians and Paramedics to provide emergency response, care and transport to people who become ill or injured at public events.
Main duties of the job
You will attend to patients that become unwell whilst attending an event at a venue and occasionally convey patients to an appropriate treatment centre or hospital

Duties & Responsibilities
4. Attended urgent and emergency calls as directed by the Control Team at the venues.
5. Working as part of a response team with more senior ambulance clinicians.
6. Physically manoeuvre and lift patients using the provided manual handling aids.
7. Undertaking a manual handling dynamic risk assessment, where necessary, request additional support before attempting any manoeuvre.
8. Completing all relevant operational documentation (VDI check sheets, etc) when required.
9. Adherence to our policies and procedures.
10. Adherence to any relevant policies and procedures as dictated by a venue (this may include policies and procedures provided by the individual venues).
11. Ensuring all vehicles are thoroughly checked prior to the start of a shift (where applicable). This includes the required equipment and road worthiness checks.
12. Ensuring all vehicles and equipment are kept clean and within relevant infection, prevention and control policies and procedures.
13. Reporting any vehicle defects immediately to the management team.
14. Attending any relevant/required training sessions provided by us
15. Have an adaptable approach to the role and a willingness to be flexible.
16. Ensure any changes in your driving status are communicated to us immediately.
17. Maintaining contractual key performance indicators that are within your control.
18. Identifying and reporting any equipment failures or faults at the point of identification.
19. Ensuring the safe and effective disposal of all clinical waste materials.
Clinical Responsibilities
20. Maintain an appropriate level of care for patients relevant to their condition within the authorised level of competence.
21. Timely recognition where more senior clinical intervention is required and/or conveyance to a specialist centre is indicated.
22. Interact and reassure distressed, emotional or mentally ill persons in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
23. Undertake clinically appropriate assessments and interventions within the ECSW clinical scope of practice.
24. Ensure the administration of any permitted medicines is done in accordance with the relevant JRCALC clinical guidelines.
25. Ensure authorisation is sought prior to the discharge of patient care (this includes onward referrals to another healthcare professional).
Documentation and Record Keeping
26. Maintaining a high standard of clinical documentation.
27. Accurately record all elements of a clinical assessment and relevant clinical interventions to assist in the continuation of patient care.
28. Ensuring the specific vehicle forms are completed prior to the start of a shift.
29. Submitting accurate and detailed incident forms to us (and any NHS Trust as required).
30. Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
31. Ensuring the safe storage of all clinical documentation in respect of the control of confidential information policy as outlined within the Data Protection Act and the Caldicott Principles.
Communication
32. To communicate sensitive medical information to patients and relatives in a reassuring manner whilst maintaining professionalism, empathy and confidentiality.
33. Liaise with other staff and communicate patient information in a professional, confidential manner.
34. Maintaining effective communication with patients, healthcare professionals, Managers and Associate Professionals.
35. Ensuring any relevant individual(s) is made aware of any operational or clinical issues when appropriate.
Additional Requirements
36. Providing requested information to under the company's obligations under the NHS safer recruitment requirements.
37. Providing an enhanced disclosure barring service (DBS) with barred list information certificate.
38. Providing requested documents and evidence to allow us to undertake an enhanced DBS with a barred list information certificate.
39. On receipt of the DBS, signing up to the DBS update service to allow us to conduct annual DBS checks. Alternatively, provide a new DBS certificate on an annual basis.
40. Completing the health assessment prior to the commencement of operational shifts.
41. Maintaining compliance with all required mandatory training set by us
42. Provide evidence of the vaccinations required to undertake frontline emergency work.
43. Engage with the clinician team with routine clinical supervision and appraisals.
