Job Description:
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate PSD (Personal, Social Development) Teacher to join a secondary school in Chesterfield (S41). This role is ideal for an educator committed to empowering students with essential life skills, emotional intelligence, and social awareness to prepare them for adulthood.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging PSD lessons covering topics such as mental health, relationships, personal well-being, and social responsibility.
2. Create an inclusive, supportive, and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and personal growth.
3. Use real-world examples and practical activities to help students develop essential life skills.
4. Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and positive decision-making skills.
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to provide holistic support to students.
6. Monitor student progress and provide individualized guidance and support where necessary.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
2. Experience teaching PSD, Citizenship, PSHE, or related subjects at secondary level.
3. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, mental health awareness, and personal development strategies.
4. Ability to engage students in discussions on sensitive and real-life topics in a respectful manner.
5. DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
6. Passion for helping young people develop essential life skills for their future success.
