Due to rapid growth and continued success, we are delighted to confirm that we are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join our Huddersfield team. As the Assistant Site Manager, you will work with sub-contractors, trades and suppliers to ensure works are delivered against programme, within budget and compliant including health and safety standards on multiple sites. This is a permanent role and the core working hours are Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm.
The Customer
We are working on a large social housing project for Kirklees District Council. Works include internal and external refurbishment to two six-storey blocks of flats in Kirklees, West Yorkshire. The full scope of works includes fire door replacement, fire stopping works of existing services on all floors and sprinkler systems to all flats and communal areas, bathroom replacements and electrical works, new boilers, low level brickwork cleaning, external wall insulation, windows and doors, solar PV to support new electrical boilers and flat roof replacement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assistant Site Manager responsibilities include:
1. To ensure all works carried out comply with BS7671 and any other relevant standards.
2. To ensure that works instructions issued to trades or subcontractors are clear, unambiguous and represent a full and fair days’ workload, at all times seeking to maximise productivity.
3. To lead a team of supply chain partners to solve problems associated with carrying out their works.
4. Carry out Ad Hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners.
5. Carry out WIPs on directly employed tradespeople.
6. Carry out Quality Inspections on all works.
7. Ensure PAT testing of office equipment and plant is current.
8. Organise work activity and prioritisation for the team.
9. Complete an accident form in the presence of an injury.
10. Manage the Welfare facilities on site.
11. Deal with tenants on a daily basis and achieve excellent customer satisfaction.
What You Will Need
Essential:
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Strong IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
* CSCS Card.
Desirable:
* Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance.
* Understanding of job costing.
* SMSTS.
