About the Role:
The purpose of this role is to assist the MRes in Medical Sciences course by supporting students, particularly in their in vitro bio-medical research projects in the Preston campus. The Research Assistant will become an integral part of the course team, working closely with the course leads and research supervisors to assist training and protocol implementation, data generation/collection, initial ad-hoc troubleshooting and problem-solving as well as compliance with course-/project-specific requirements. An important function will be to contribute to the development of new research projects and the establishment of new technologies to expand the course portfolio of opportunities.
The post holder will be based in the School of Medicine and Dentistry in Preston but will be frequently fulfilling his research assistant role in selected university laboratories within the same campus.
About you:
The successful candidate will have experience of working in role-specific competencies on in vitro bio/medical technologies and have an undergraduate degree, or equivalent in a relevant area. Excellent oral and written presentation and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
