Role Overview
The role is part of the PPP support to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) programme within Sellafield. The PPP support to DAM is an integrated project team with members from PPP and Sellafield’s asset management capability.
The DAM programme is a site wide delivery improvement programme supporting Sellafield’s improvement requirements, the programme aims to address a number of issues with Sellafield’s asset management arrangements with a targeted outcome of: “An integrated information line of sight from the asset through to the enterprise that integrates activities across the asset lifecycle, removes the burden of paper-based work processes from our teams and engages everyone in the use of modern digital technologies to inform decision making”
Role Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst will provide an array of support to the DAM Project, aligned to the delivery of outcomes.
Main duties include:
• Undertaking workshops to establish the business needs/requirements and translating these into defined outcomes, outputs, use cases or user stories.
• Writing and designing process maps.
• Engagement with stakeholders to plan and undertake Requirements Workshops and reviews.
• Working with Enterprise Architects to review existing solutions and decide their suitability to deliver the required outcomes and outputs identified by the Business Analyst.
• Working with Business stakeholders to develop Demand requests and the associated Governance documents to allow solutions to be identified and ultimately delivered.
• Collation, consolidation and change control of business requirements and maintenance of the Requirements Register.
• Maintaining audit trails of stakeholder engagement, sign off or confirmation of requirements by stakeholders and confirmation of the transmittal document exchange process between PPP and stakeholders including SL.
• Development of validation rules, quality criteria and quality reviews to confirm requirements have been satisfied.
• Preparing business requirements, documenting ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ processes and delivering process flows.
• Formally documenting functions.
• Writing process documentation.
Skills / ESSENTIAL
• Experience of engaging with the Business to identify and document their requirements primarily as outcomes or outputs.
• Experience of delivering the analysis of complex projects and programmes including:
o Clear examples where analysis undertaken has informed decisions of key stakeholders on programmes, including driving value for money.
o Experience of business case development and value/benefits mapping.
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly, plain English' way.
• Strong facilitation skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to integrate well into a team and build relationships well with senior stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and proactive in seeking out necessary information.
• Competent with MS Office:
o Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel for data analysis, Word for documentation, and PowerPoint for presentations.
o Proficient in the use of Visio.
o Ability to generate reports, charts, and graphs to effectively communicate project-related information.
• Good Communication Skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, enabling clear and effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and management.
o Capable of presenting complex cost and schedule data in a comprehensible manner to diverse audiences.
o Proficient in active listening, facilitating discussions, and resolving conflicts through effective communication.
• Hold or be capable of obtaining government clearance (SC/SL – Nuclear).
Skills / DESIRABLE
• Understanding of Business Analysis frameworks, value cycles, business processes, business requirements and UAT methodologies and applying these appropriately.
• Previous experience of working with a regulatory driven environment.
• Previous experience of delivering within a transformation programme.
