About the role:
To support the Practice Development Team to achieve the objectives of the Care and Wellbeing strategy to increase capacity and capability by leading on the development and delivery of the Social Work development professional training function across the Service Areas. Develop an external customer base and income generation through the supply of Social Work Practice Learning
opportunities and development. Build partnerships with other public sector employers and Higher Education Institutions to share best practice.
About you:
You have significant post-qualifying experience which includes in depth in the field of both child and family social work and social work with adults. In addition to that you have experience of practice assessing and supervising student social workers in practice learning opportunities (placements) and experience of
supervising staff. You have considerable experience of inter-agency working and direct experience of identifying training needs for individuals and groups of staff. You also have experience of budget Management and multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary working. You have good knowledge of current statutory and legislative framework, national guidance and best practice relevant to the post. This includes knowledge of current research and the ability to communicate and influence other to demonstrate its continuing transfer into practice as well as knowledge of current and developing frameworks and requirements for qualifying and post-qualifying social work training and detailed knowledge of learning & development
and the theories related to it. You know the ways that learning and development can be provided and you have knowledge of coaching and mentorship and the operation of multi-agency
networks. You have a good ability to write and present reports.
You possess a Professional Social Work qualification and you are registered as Social Worker with Care Council for Wales. You also possess a Practice Teaching Award or Practice Assessor Module at Level 7 and further training qualification e.g. QCF Assessor Unit. If do not have those any further training qualifications, you are committed to undertake any qualification relevant to this
post as defined in the Powys Social Services Qualification Framework
What you will do:
You will be working closely with the operational teams in Children and Adult Services as well as the Open University. You will support all of our GOOSW students as well as NQSW’s and Practice Educators. You will support the Practice Development Team to achieve the objectives of the Care and Wellbeing strategy to increase capacity and capability by leading on the development and delivery of the Social Work development professional
training function across the Service Areas. You will build partnerships with other public sector employers and Higher
Education Institutions to share best practice.
