Description Role Purpose To oversee the daily operation of the Café and Retail department. To drive staff in a positive manner to increase turnover and ensure excellent customer service delivery. Main Duties and Responsibilities Have awareness, as well as raising awareness of all allergens in all food recipes; maintaining display cards to reflect the various potential risks to certain individuals. Adhering to Natasha’s Law. Quickly adapt to differing customer needs, wants and demands; reacting to ensure we maximise sales through top-down selling, up selling and link selling. Comply with food safety standards by checking all regular checks and audits are completed daily. Work with our suppliers and the supply chain network to resolve issues of miss delivered stock when delivered. Count and record daily till sales, reporting any anomalies. Understand security protocol and the impacts of this on the Café and Retail department. Take ownership of for ordering supplies for the café, providing a full and diverse range of products to meet varying dietary requirements. Provide leadership, direction and training to all members of the team. Engage with team members, helping them develop and understand the needs of the business to create a better and more productive work environment. Assist in the writing of risk assessments and the reporting of Health & Safety incidents. Manage low level Human Resource issues relating to the violation of procedures and processes that may jeopardise the safety of staff, reputation of the business or disregard of fellow employees and escalate as necessary. Contrive a fair and just culture towards under performance; establishing a robust plan of action to develop staff positively. Rules and Procedures To be aware of and adhere to applicable rules, regulations, legislation and procedures which are governed by Cornwall Airport Ltd. e.g. Equal Opportunities Policy, Code of Conduct, national legislation (Health & Safety, Data Protection). To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department. To be responsible for your own self-development, undertaking training as appropriate. To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post, as required.
