We are looking for a Principal Teacher to lead a newly formed faculty of Mathematics and Technical Subjects. The successful candidate will help support the faculty to grow and lead improvement and attainment in the areas of numeracy, mathematics and technical subjects (e.g. practical woodwork, graphic communication, Design and Technology etc.). As a Faculty Principal Teacher, you will be part of the whole school leadership team. You will directly lead teachers of mathematics and technical subjects, and work alongside other faculty principal teachers, depute heads, and the campus head teacher to drive forward our improvement plan.
As well as specialist knowledge in either maths or technical subjects, we are looking for somebody who is inspiring, passionate about their subject and has experience of leading improvement at a subject/department or whole school level.
The successful applicant will have strong evidence of professional or academic learning and will be a life-long learner committed to continuously using the Standard for Middle Leadership to reflect upon and improve their professional values, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
We offer various benefits to support you, such as a competitive salary, pension scheme, generous leave entitlement, cycle to work scheme, discounts on gym memberships and leisure centres, wellbeing initiatives, and opportunities for learning and career growth. We also embrace a modern approach to work, offering a flexible first approach where possible to requests from our employees regarding how they work.
Argyll and Bute Council recognises the numerous benefits of a positive work-life balance to the wellbeing and productivity of our employees. We will take a flexible first approach to requests from our employees to change the way that they work. While we must balance such requests with the need to ensure the quality of the important services we deliver is not compromised, we will ensure that each request is given careful consideration with a view to achieving a positive outcome wherever possible.
