About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Product Regulatory Consultant to join our Product Regulatory Compliance Team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in helping our clients navigate the complex regulatory requirements associated with the design, manufacture, and supply of engineering products, with a particular focus on substance-related requirements for hardware (RoHS, REACH, POPs, BPR, etc.).
You will work closely with clients, regulators, and other experts across a broad range of sectors, including electrical, electronic, and electromechanical product industries. This role will provide you with the opportunity to support clients globally, ranging from SMEs to large corporations, and even governmental agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Project Delivery:
1. Provide high-quality regulatory and strategic advice.
2. Draft technical documentation, reports, and regulatory assessments.
3. Advise clients on product compliance with relevant legislation and standards (RoHS, REACH, etc.).
4. Conduct technical research and assess evidence to demonstrate compliance (e.g. risk assessments, technical files, declarations).
5. Manage projects to ensure delivery within cost and timeframes, escalating risks and proposing solutions as needed.
6. Act as a peer reviewer for deliverables produced by colleagues.
7. Present results to clients, run webinars, and provide training.
Business Development & Marketing:
1. Foster and maintain relationships with existing clients.
2. Proactively respond to client inquiries, defining their needs and drafting proposals.
3. Represent the company at technical conferences and networking events.
4. Promote the service offerings through suitable social media channels.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
1. Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Law).
2. At least 5 years of relevant experience in product compliance and regulatory work.
3. Strong understanding of global regulations like REACH, RoHS, POPs, etc.
4. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with strong attention to detail in report writing and presentations.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials used in engineering products, with a focus on RoHS exemptions.
2. Familiarity with other product compliance laws (e.g., WEEE, Eco-design, California Proposition 65, etc.).
3. Previous consultancy experience.
4. Chartership or working towards it in a relevant Chartered Institute.
5. Experience in electrical and electronic product engineering.
6. Security clearance or willingness to undergo the vetting process.
