An exciting new opportunity for a Service and Commissioning Engineer is available with my client who are a leading provider of automated / robotic solutions for the automotive industry. Their ideal candidate will be mechanical biased with electrical knowledge. Proven field service installation and commissioning skills on automated plant. PLC knowledge is beneficial but not essential. Service and Commissioning Engineer role: The successful Service and Commissioning Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for: Service, test and commissioning of my clients’ automated electrical / mechanical systems and equipment at customer sites UK and sometimes abroad. Achieve customer sign off acceptance within agreed time frames wherever possible Document and report to internal engineering team throughout test and commission process. Provide excellent customer training in line with expectations Service and Commissioning Engineer requirement: Qualified to ideally to HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent in a mechanical discipline Strong mechanical engineering knowledge with some electrical engineering knowledge Automated plant installation and commissioning, ideally from within automotive or related industries. Proven fault finding, problem solving to overcome issues utilising your technical knowledge and experience. Previous spray booths, ovens, conveyors equipment experience would be advantageous, as would experience of paint application. Basic PLC software is desired but not essential. Proven supervisory and management of contractors as well as customer training is essential Knowledge of UK H&S legislation is required, IOSH would be advantageous Excellent PC skills including MS office. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with the customer at all levels. Flexible working when required and experience working home based, travelling to customer sites around the UK and on occasion overseas, for either short or extended periods. Service and Commissioning Engineer package: Salary base of £45k - £55k Overtime paid 10% bonus Company car or car allowance option Pension 7.5% Flexible benefits 25 days holiday bank hols All expenses paid including meal allowance and travel etc to sites
