Job Title: Administrative Support Salary: £12.21 per hour Location: Scunthorpe Contract: Temp to Perm (37 hours/week, 190 days/year) Immediate Start, DBS Required Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to join our client Schools team as an Administrative Support. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the academy’s administrative functions. You will provide a professional, welcoming service, and support staff, students, parents, and visitors with a range of administrative duties. Key Responsibilities: Present a welcoming and professional service to all visitors, students, and staff. Ensure the reception area is always manned and accessible. Handle incoming calls and emails, answering queries or forwarding to appropriate team members. Sort incoming and outgoing mail (electronic and paper), and maintain communication records. Manage and update the room reservation system for booking all facilities. Support the administration team with general office duties, including photocopying, scanning, filing, and shredding. Demonstrate a high level of initiative in managing sensitive information with discretion. Provide administrative support for academy events such as parents' evenings, concerts, and trips. Assist in the management of student attendance, including updating registers, contacting parents, and tracking holiday forms. Maintain and update student care plans, including administering medication and keeping accurate records (training provided). Coordinate and assist with the preparation of teaching resources and other administrative tasks as needed. Undertake lunchtime duties, and support the academy’s Fire Wardens. Person Specification: Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (experience with Microsoft Office is essential). Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills, with a professional and friendly approach. Previous experience in an educational or office environment is highly desirable. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with tact and discretion. A proactive, flexible approach to work with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. First Aid qualification is desirable (training can be provided). Desirable Skills and Experience: Experience in a school setting, working with young people, or in a similar administrative role. Understanding of school policies and procedures related to health and safety, child protection, and attendance. Ability to use ICT systems and databases to manage student information and administrative tasks effectively.
