Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking an accomplished Volpe, Network Engineer – SME, to join our team in Cambridge, MA. This pivotal role is ideal for a seasoned professional with experience in designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated network infrastructures.
Responsibilities
* Manage Cisco ISE environment.
* Perform day-to-day activities required to manage data services, such as network design, implementation, and management, including troubleshooting complex network issues.
* Provide direct support to other departments regarding network operational issues.
* Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrading of network infrastructure as required.
* Work with all application owners and IT stakeholders to build and support a scalable, efficient, and stable network.
* Research, plan, design, and implement network technologies using industry best practices to ensure network operations meet business and technical requirements.
* Assist internal business units in collecting and documenting network requirements.
* Assist in developing network policies, procedures, and change management for network operations.
* Work with the virtualization group to develop, configure, and manage networking requirements to ensure interoperability between physical and virtualization environments.
* Participate in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity team.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree.
* 10+ years of relevant experience managing data networks, possessing extensive skills and knowledge in network design, architecture, troubleshooting, and management.
o Must have Cisco Identity Services Engineer (ISE) hands-on designs and architect experience.
o Experience converting from IPV4 to IPV6.
o Experience with Virtualization networking technologies preferred.
o Comprehensive experience troubleshooting network issues that impact user’s productivity.
* Active CCIE Certification.
* Background check with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Knowledge of internal and external routing protocols, e.g., EIGRP and BGP, QoS.
* Solid understanding of Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, etc.
* Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
* Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for this position.
* Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
* Good problem-solving skills: ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
