An opportunity has arisen for a Chief Engineer – Controls & Electronics to join the Electrical Controls & Software department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. About the role To direct the work of the production hardware and software groups, in delivery of production level hardware and software on multiple platforms. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality embedded control systems software for Fortescue Zero products and projects. What you will do Responsible for managing teams of engineers in the delivery of hardware and software for multiple embedded electronic systems integrated into products and their associated test environments. Hold responsibility for the timely delivery of tested, documented and appropriately controlled hardware and software products. Duties will include: Recruitment, training and development of your team in support of project demands Planning and reporting on activities and delivery plans Development and maintenance of company processes and procedures in the delivery of your objectives. Ensuring team outputs meet appropriate quality and safety standards. Ensuring compliance to appropriate software release protocols across different operating environments including production and prototype projects Ensuring that appropriate standards are applied for the tracking and rectification of software faults You will be flexible to accommodate projects changes as required. About you Experience in the management of an embedded product team in a production facing environment Good engineering degree in a relevant discipline Highly organised and an excellent planner and organiser Reporting at all levels to internal and external stakeholders What is in it for you?
