A corporate priority is to establish the Council as an ‘Employer of Choice’. This will require us to review our approach to the management, deployment, investment and development of the workforce and how we design our structures and jobs to provide opportunities for people to grow and flourish. We have invested in our internal team and this post will lead our human resources, organisational development, learning and development, health and safety and equality, diversity, and inclusion services.
Working closely with the Leadership Team, Members and other colleagues across the Council, this is a highly visible role with the expectation to champion our people agenda that embeds our corporate values into our organisational culture and creates a great place for people to work. Part of this journey will include supporting the development and implementation of our People Strategy that puts our most valuable asset at the heart of everything we do.
To be successful in this role you will be able to see the bigger picture and be ambitious for the services you lead. An experienced and qualified HR/OD professional, your track record will evidence your achievements in the design and delivery of people and OD strategies that supported strategic and operational priorities.
Your leadership style will be focused on people, inclusivity and continuous improvement and you will have a deep understanding of, and solutions to, the workforce challenges that we need to address.
