SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Make decisions on assessment of housing need in line with the London Borough of Bromley Allocations Scheme and agreed policy and procedure.
• Make decisions on Priority & Banding for each application, issue letters, and deal with incoming correspondence for each case.
• Process applications in line with agreed policy and procedure.
• Assess & Process High Priority Move on applications such as Recommended Homeless Cases, Leaving Care clients and Support & Resettlement Team clients.
• Deal with both straightforward & complex customer queries both on the phone and in person, efficiently, accurately and against agreed performance targets.
• Provide housing advice & information, including tailored information and advice for each customer.
• To actively participate in Team meetings and working groups, service development and review etc.
• To operate and maintain the Council computer equipment and IT systems in relation to the duties of the section including the updating or amendments to records and to ensure that all data is correct.
• To keep up to date with developments, options, products and information relating to the Service and the rest of the Council to ensure appropriate and timely information is given to callers.
• To assist in administrative tasks such as photocopying, distributing post, assisting customers to complete forms, and filing to the requirements to the service.
• Deal promptly with all enquires by telephone, correspondence or in person ensuring that the Council’s responses targets are met or exceeded.
• Operate in a positive, proactive and co-operative manner with a Customer Service Focus and ensure personal and team targets are achieved.
• Foster good relationships with other officers in the Department, PCT, housing associations, housing providers, voluntary agencies, etc.
• Be self-servicing with respect to general office administration, filing, clerical work and other related duties.
To be confident with working remotely with appropriate training provided.
